Four Bruins Earn All-Far West Region Honors

LOS ANGELES – Four members of the 2023 Pac-12 champion men's soccer team have been named to the United Soccer Coaches All-Far West Region team. Tucker Lepley and Tommy Silva earned first-team honors, Jack Sarkos received second-team honors and Andre Ochoa earned third-team acclaim.

Lepley, who on Tuesday was also invited to the adidas MLS College Showcase, earns his second All-Region honors after being placed on the second team in 2021. The redshirt junior tallied three goals and dished out an additional two assists on the season, while captaining UCLA to its first Pac-12 title since 2014. He scored two game-winning goals in 2023, against California and at San Diego State. For his career Lepley has totaled 11 goals and 10 assists.

Silva, a senior from Tucson, Arizona receives first-team honors and All-Region honors for the first time in his career. Silva started in all 18 of UCLA's contests in 2023, and dished out a team-high eight assists en route to a third consecutive second-team All-Pac-12 selection. He tallied multiple assists twice during the campaign, against Virginia Tech in the season-opener, and at home against San Diego State. The senior defender has appeared in 69 matches for the Bruins, making 68 starts. Silva has scored nine times and assisted on an additional 23 goals for a total of 41 points while in Westwood.

Sarkos had a memorable lone season on campus at UCLA, culminating in second team all-region honors. The Margate City, N.J. native scored a team-leading nine goals, and added two more assists over 15 appearances for the Bruins. He finished the season 26th nationally in goals per game with 0.60. He opened the 2023 season by scoring five goals in UCLA's first four games, added three more in conference play in home draws with Stanford and Oregon State, and also scored in UCLA's 3-1 win at Stanford. Including his four years at Lehigh, Sarkos has scored 26 total goals and tallied six assists.

Ochoa garnered third-team honors after a stellar senior season. The Anaheim, California native scored four goals and assisted on an additional seven more throughout the 2023 season. He finished second on the team in both points with 15, and assists with seven. Ochoa tallied either a goal or an assist in five of the Bruins' first seven games of the season. As for Pac-12 play, Ochoa finished the conference season tied for first on the team in points with nine (2G, 5A), and topped the charts with Silva in assists in conference play with five.
