BERKELEY, CALIF. – No. 6 UCLA scored 49.6+ on its final two rotations to secure a season-high team total of 197.975 and a tie at No. 7 California. The Bruins trailed by 0.35 after two rotations but scored 49.650 on floor exercise to pull to within 0.225 and then reeled off a season-high 49.625 on beam in the final rotation to finish tied for first place.
UCLA (5-4-2, 2-1-2) counted four 9.925s on floor from Emma Malabuyo, Selena Harris, Margzetta Frazier and Jordan Chiles before Chae Campbell tied her season-high with a 9.950. On balance beam, the Bruins reeled off career-high after career-high. Sophomore Emily Lee got things started with a 9.925, her fourth-straight leadoff score of 9.9 or higher. Freshman Ciena Alipio followed with her career-high, a 9.900, a score that was matched by sophomore Ana Padurariu, tying her career-best. Chiles nailed her beam routine and stuck her double pike dismount for a personal-best 9.950, and Harris matched her with her third consecutive 9.950. Malabuyo finished it off with a 9.850, bringing UCLA's team total to 49.625, the fifth-highest beam score in school history. California (9-0-2, 3-0-2) scored 49.400 on floor, with a pair of 9.975s from Mya Lauzon and eMjae Frazier ensuring the tie.
The Bruins will return to the road on Saturday, Feb. 25 at Arizona.

The Golden Bears moved ahead after the second rotation, thanks to a 49.650 uneven bars set. The Bears had four scores of 9.925 or better, led by Madelyn Williams' 9.975. It was quite the day for the Frazier family, as UCLA senior Margzetta Frazier recorded a 9.925 on floor exercise and 9.900 on uneven bars. Cal freshman eMjae Frazier won the all-around with a career-high 39.700, tied for first on floor exercise with a 9.975 and placed second on uneven bars with a 9.950.
