Track and Field Readies to Host Bob Larsen Distance Carnival

LOS ANGELES โ UCLA Track & Field is set to host the Bob Larsen Distance Carnival on Friday, Mar. 24, at Drake Stadium. Friday's competition marks the first of two outdoor meets held on UCLA's campus this weekend; the team will host the Rafer Johnson/Jackie Joyner-Kersee Invitational on Saturday after the distance meet concludes.

The Bruins will kick off competition in at 1 p.m. in the men's hammer throw, followed by the women's hammer throw and both javelin competitions.
ย
Running events begin at 5 p.m. with the women's 3000m steeple, then the men's event. The 1500m races will see the most action; the women's race has five heats and will be followed by a four-heat men's 1500m event.

Track events run until the conclusion of the mem's 10,000m race, which is set to start at 8:30 p.m. Friday.
