
UCLA's Novice Eight Finishes in Third Place on Saturday

SAN DIEGO – UCLA's novice eight crew raced to a third-place finish in a five-boat heat on Saturday morning on the first day of the San Diego Crew Classic on Mission Bay.
The Bruins' novice crew recorded a racing time of 7:37.349, crossing the finish line behind first-place Washington (7:09.837) and second-place British Columbia (7:24.345).
UCLA finished the race 15.23 seconds ahead of fourth-place UC San Diego and well ahead of fifth-place competitor San Diego (8:17.348).
UCLA's novice eight crew will return to action at approximately 11:26 a.m. in the Grand Final race for the novice eight on Sunday, April 2.
Sunday's event will mark the Bruins' final race before next weekend's Big Ten Invitational, which will take place in Sarasota (Florida) at Nathan Benderson Park.
