MATCHUP HISTORY: UCLA vs. THE TROJANS
• UCLA has won nine-consecutive games against the Trojans dating back to January 17, 2020 (L, 2OT: 68-70 @ USC). The Bruins hold a slight advantage in the all-time series, winning 57 of the 107 matchups in program history.
• Sunday's game will be the second top-10 matchup of the year between the programs - the last time both teams were ranked in the top 10 for a rivalry game prior to the Dec. 30 matchup was No. 7 UCLA vs. No. 9 USC on March 13, 1981 in the AIAW West Regional. The Bruins and Trojans had three top-10 matchups that season (Feb. 6: No. 5 UCLA at No. 7 USC; Feb. 25: No. 9 UCLA vs. No 8 USC), with UCLA capturing wins in both February games before dropping the March matchup.
LAST TIME OUT: vs. OREGON STATE (Jan. 7 - W, 65-54)
• Four Bruins finished in double figures - graduate student Charisma Osborne led the way with 15 PTS on 7-of-16 shooting. Osborne also had a team-high 4 AST, 3 STL and 8 REB (Dugalic tied with 8 REB) on the night.
• Sophomore Kiki Rice added 13 PTS and 3 AST on the night with 6 REB in the 11-point win. The PG also swiped a steal, her 31st of the year (T-5th, Pac-12). Rice has stolen a ball in all but one game this season.
• Londynn Jones (12 PTS, 2-4 3FG) and Lauren Betts (10 PTS, 6 REB) rounded out Bruins in double figures.
• UCLA held it largest lead of the game in the fourth quarter (+16 PTS, 9:03 in Q4) and held the lead for 35:30 of the 40-minute contest (OSU Time with Lead: 2:41).
DEC. 30 vs. No. 6/5 USC (W, 71-64)
• Jones led the Bruins with a team-high 21 PTS, matching her season high. The SG knocked down five three-pointers, including two in Q4 to fend off the Trojans. Jones boasts .401/.400/.806 shooting split on the year.
• Betts added 15 PTS and gabbed a team-leading 8 REB. With the result, Betts became the fifth player in the Pac-12 with 200+ PTS and 100+ REB. The center also had a career-high six blocks in the win; she is just the fourth Bruin to ever record 6+ BLK in a game - the single-game high is 7 BLK (Corrine Costa, four times).
• Rice (12 PTS) ignited the Bruin offense in the third, scoring 10 PTS in Q3 as UCLA jumped out ahead in the second half. Osborne (10 PTS) rounded out Bruins in double figures, and the graduate student led all players with 6 AST.
• Despite 27 PTS for JuJu Watkins, UCLA held the eight-time Pac-12 Freshman of the Week to 7-of-24 (.292 FG%) from the field in the rivalry game (11-12 FT).
• UCLA set its single-game attendance record with the official capacity crowd in the building. Official attendance was a sell out: 13,659 - the previous record was set on Jan. 23, 1999 vs. USC (9,530).
