UCLA Finishes Third at Collegiate Quad

West Valley City, Utah – No. 12 UCLA scored 197.100 to place third at the Sprouts Farmers Market Collegiate Quad. The Bruins finished ahead of fourth-place and No. 2-ranked Utah (196.975) but were just edged out by No. 5 LSU (197.150) for second-place. No. 1 Oklahoma won the meet with a 197.900.
Sophomore Selena Harris won the all-around with a score of 39.650. She also placed first on vault and beam with scores of 9.950.
UCLA began the meet on floor exercise with a team total of 49.2. Brooklyn Moors and Nya Reed provided the rotation's high marks with 9.9s, and Harris and Chae Campbell added 9.825s. The score put the team in second place behind Oklahoma, who totaled 49.45 on vault, and ahead of Utah (49.05) and LSU (48.75).
Emily Lee's leadoff prowess came through on vault in the second rotation when she started the rotation with a stuck Yurchenko full that merited a career-high 9.9. Paige Anastasi followed with a 9.8, and Katelyn Rosen hit for a 9.85 on her first collegiate vault. After Campbell's 9.9 Yurchenko full, Harris drilled her Yurchenko 1.5 for a 9.95, bringing the Bruins to a 49.4 on the event. The Bruins remained in second place, just three-tenths behind Oklahoma.
UCLA got off to an unsteady start on balance beam, with the first mark hitting just 9.675. Rosen was unflappable immediately after, though, scoring 9.850. Graduate Emma Andres, in her first-ever competitive beam routine, was a revelation, scoring 9.9. Harris followed with a 9.95, and Emma Malabuyo scored 9.875. UCLA finished beam with a 49.250 but was overtaken by LSU, who scored 49.650 on bars.
