Harris Named Student-Athlete of the Week, Presented by Ready

LOS ANGELES – Sophomore Selena Harris of UCLA Gymnastics has been selected the UCLA Student-Athlete of the Week, presented by Ready, for the week of Jan. 8-14.
Harris won the all-around in a tough field at the Sprouts Collegiate Quad, scoring 39.650. Among the gymnasts she beat were two of the Top 3 finishers at last year's NCAA Championships, including the reigning champion. She also won the balance beam and tied for first on vault with scores of 9.95; her scores helped the Bruins achieve season-high totals on vault (49.4) and beam (49.25), as well as a season-high overall team score of 197.1. With her 39.65 all-around score, she has hit 39.5 or higher in all 15 of her all-around appearances in her career. She ranks No. 6 in the all-around, No. 4 on bars and No. 7 on vault in the latest national rankings.
This is Harris's third-career student-athlete of the week award, her first of the 2024 season.
