Jones Named Student-Athlete of the Week, Presented by Ready

LOS ANGELES – Sophomore Londynn Jones of UCLA Women's Bsketball has been selected the UCLA Student-Athlete of the Week, presented by Ready, for the week of Dec. 25-Jan. 1.
The shooting guard scored a team-high 21 points on 8-of-12 shooting in No. 2 UCLA's 71-64 win over No. 6 USC Saturday. Jones shot a scorching 5-of-8 from three-point land, cashing in two fourth quarter triples to help seal the rivalry win inside Pauley Pavilion presented by Wescom. The Riverside, Calif., native scored eight of UCLA's 13 points in the final frame. The 5-foot-4 guard also grabbed seven rebounds, setting a new single-game career high. Saturday marked her fifth game with 4+ threes this season (third with 5+); Jones is shooting 40.4% from three this year with a team-leading 36 3FGM. UCLA women's basketball captured its fourth ranked win - second top 10 win - of the season in front of a capacity crowd Saturday, matching the team's total number of ranked wins from the 2022-23 season.
This is Jones' second-career UCLA student-athlete of the week award, her first of the 2023-24 season.
