Osborne Named Student-Athlete of the Week, Presented by Ready

LOS ANGELES – Charisma Osborne of UCLA Women's Basketball has been selected the UCLA Student-Athlete of the Week, presented by Ready, for the week of Jan. 15-22.
The Bruin graduate student played one game last week, recording a game-high 22 points in UCLA's top-5 win over then-No. 3 Colorado to hand the Buffs their first Conference loss in Pac-12 play. Friday's win matched the Bruins' highest-ranked win in program history (Nov. 18, 2017 – vs. No. 3 Baylor; W, 82-68). Osborne had eight points in the fourth quarter against the Buffs, shooting 6-of-8 from the free throw line in the period. The fifth-year Bruin played all 10 minutes in the final frame; she was on the court for 36.5 of the 40 minutes of play. Osborne swiped four steals and had zero turnovers despite splitting primary ballhandling responsibilities with Kiki Rice. Osborne also surpassed the 750-career rebound mark with her four boards in the winning effort.
Osborne captures her seventh-career UCLA student-athlete of the week award, her first of the 2023-24 season. She inches closer to the UCLA record for weekly awards, held by Jaime Jaquez, Jr. (10) and Kyla Ross (10). Osborne leads all current UCLA student-athletes with her seven.
