No. 2 UCLA Takes Down Oregon, 75-49

LOS ANGELES โThe No. 2 UCLA women's basketball team took down Oregon 75-49 on Friday evening at Pauley Pavilion presented by Wescom.
Angela Dugalić led the Bruins (13-0, 2-0 Pac-12) with 17 points and nine rebounds, while two other Bruins finished with double-doubles. Lauren Betts had 13 points and 11 rebounds for her seventh double-double of the year, while Kiki Rice tallied 11 points and 10 assists in the contest. ย ย ย ย
The Bruins crashed the offensive glass early as part of a 6-0 run to begin the game. Betts and Dugalićย combined for five offensive rebounds in the opening four minutes. Those early boards lead to four second-chance points.
UCLA finished the quarter in style, courtesy of Rice. With six seconds remaining in the quarter, the sophomore brought the ball up the court before drilling a mid-range jumper as time expired, giving UCLA a 13-4 lead.
For the half, two Bruins finished in double figures. Betts led the way with a first-half double-double of 11 points and 10 rebounds, while Rice added 10 points, four assists, and three rebounds. ย
Dugalić kept her foot on the gas for UCLA in the third quarter. The senior was 4-of-6 from the field in the quarter and also added two foul shots for a team-high six points in the quarter. Her three-pointer with 45 seconds left in the quarter gave the Bruins a then game-high 27-point lead, 61-34.
Lina Sontag put the Bruins up 30, 64-34, with a corner triple to start the fourth, and the Bruins cruised from there. ย UCLA managed the game from there and earned the 75-49 win on Friday night.

The Bruins continue Pac-12 play Sunday, Jan. 7, when Oregon State comes to Pauley Pavilion. The matchup will be televised by Pac-12 Network, with tipoff scheduled for 1 p.m. PT.

Six different Bruins contributed as UCLA scored 24 points in the second quarter to take a 37-17 lead into the halftime break.
