Rice Named Student-Athlete of the Week, Presented by Ready

LOS ANGELES โ Sophomore Kiki Rice of UCLA Women's Basketball has been selected the UCLA Student-Athlete of the Week, presented by Ready, for the week of Jan. 1-7.

Rice recorded an 11-point, 10-assist double-double in Friday's blowout win over Oregon (W, 75-49) without turning the ball over. Her 10+ point, 10+ assist, 0 turnover double-double is the first for a Bruin since Charisma Osborne did it in 2021 (18 PTS, 10 REB, 12 AST, 0 TO). Rice also swiped two steals and shot 2-for-5 from long distance, officially surpassing 600-career points with her second-made 3FG.

The point guard got her second start of the weekend against Oregon State on Sunday, playing a team-high 36 minutes in the 11-point win over the Beavs. Rice scored 13 points, grabbed six boards, threw three assists and got a steal in the third-consecutive conference win for UCLA. Rice has had one or more steals in 13 of UCLA's 14 wins. The Bethesda, Md., native had six of UCLA's 21 points in the third quarter, which lifted the Bruins to a 10-point lead heading into the final frame to ultimately help seal the victory.

This is Rice's second-career UCLA student-athlete of the week award, her second of the 2023-24 season.
