Women’s Basketball Welcomes Arkansas Sunday

LOS ANGELES – UCLA Women's Basketball (3-0, 0-0 Big Ten) returns to action against the University of Arkansas (3-1, 0-0 SEC) on Sunday, Nov. 17.
The Bruins host the Razorbacks inside Pauley Pavilion presented by Wescom; Sunday's game will tip at 4:30 p.m. PT on the Big Ten Network, UCLA women's basketball's first appearance on the network since joining the conference this summer.
MATCHUP HISTORY: UCLA vs. Arkansas
• Sunday's early evening matchup will be the third in program history between the Bruins and Razorbacks. The series is tied 1-1 after last year's win by the Bruins (81-66, Dec. 3).
• UCLA last saw Arkansas when the Bruins visited Fayetteville in Dec. 2023; UCLA emerged victorious behind a 20-point, 10-rebound double-double from Lauren Betts. The center had two blocks in the win and shot a perfect 9-for-9 from the field.
• Four Bruins were in double figures; Betts (20) and starting point guard Kiki Rice (12) were joined by Gabriela Jaquez (10) and Londynn Jones (12) off the bench.
• Jaquez matched Betts with a double-double, finishing with 11 rebounds. Rice also filled the stat sheet, claiming eight rebounds, five assists two steals and two blocks in the win.

vs. Colgate (Nov. 10: W, 81-63)
• Betts poured in a career-high 31 points in Sunday's home-opening win over the Colgate Raiders, shooting 15-for-18 on the night (.833 FG%). The center had nine rebounds, three blocks and a steal in the victory.
• Four Bruins were in double figures; Betts was joined by freshman Elina Aarnisalo (19 points, 8-of-10 FG) and juniors Jones (12 points) and Timea Gardiner (10 points) in double-digit scoring.
vs. Pepperdine (Nov. 12: W, 91-54)
• Betts picked up right where she left off, shooting a perfect 6-for-6 from the floor in the first half. She finished the game with 17 points (7-9 FG), 12 rebounds and four assists in the field trip day win.
• Junior Janiah Barker came off the bench and provided 18 efficient minutes on the floor. The forward shot 9-for-16, good for 18 points, and grabbed 11 rebounds to join Betts in the double-double club.
• Junior Gabriela Jaquez returned to the starting lineup after missing Sunday's contest due to a foot injury. Jaquez scored 15 points and collected eight rebounds in her return to play. She was a team-best +33 in 29.5 minutes played.
• The Bruins outrebounded the Waves 56-22; UCLA dominated the offensive boards, grabbing 23 offensive rebounds in the win.
PRESEASON WATCH LISTS
• Five Bruins are on four different positional players of the year preseason watchlists, as published by the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame.
• Kiki Rice and Charlisse Leger-Walker were announced as two of the top 20 on the Nancy Lieberman Point Guard of the Year Award watch list.
• Angela Dugalić was named to the Cheryl Miller Small Forward of the Year Award Preseason Watchlist.
• Transfer Janiah Barker made the cut for the Katrina McClain Power Forward of the Year Award watchlist.
• Betts is on the Lisa Leslie Center of the Year Award Preseason Watchlist.
• Betts, Leger-Walker and Rice were also named to the 2024 Jersey Mike's Naismith Trophy Women's Player of the Year Watch List on Oct. 28; that trio was again named to the John R. Wooden Award Top 50 Watch List on Nov. 7.
• Betts made the cut for the Wade Trophy Watch List, which is awarded to the best player in college basketball each year.
2025 EUROBASKET QUALIFIERS
• Graduate student Angela Dugalić returned from representing Serbia in Group G of the FIBA Women's EuroBasket 2025 Qualifiers last weekend. The team is 4-0 in competition following two wins in November 2023, plus wins over Portugal on Nov. 7 (W, 71-37) and Ukraine on Nov. 10 (W, 79-53).
• Dugalić scored her tournament-high 17 points (7-14 FG) against North Macedonia on Nov. 12, 2023. She is averaging 10.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 2.0 steals over her four appearances with Serbia. She scored 9 points in Thursday's win over Portugal and added 8 rebounds and 3 steals to the box score. Dugalić had seven points, three rebounds and 2 steals in Serbia's 26-point win over Ukraine on Nov. 10.
• The Serbian forward is expected to miss time in early February for the final two qualifying group phase games take place (Feb. 6, 2025 - vs. North Macedonia; Feb. 9, 2025 - vs. Portugal).
