Bruins Head to Hawai'i for Rainbow Wahine Showdown

LOS ANGELES – UCLA Women's Basketball (5-0, 0-0 Big Ten) heads to Hawai'i for the holiday weekend, competing in the Rainbow Wahine Showdown hosted by the University of Hawai'i at Manoa.
 
The Bruins have a three-game slate on the weekend, playing Friday-Sunday in the SimpliFi Arena at the Stan Sheriff Center. Only games that include Hawai'i are to be broadcast live to television; Friday's matchup against UT-Martin and Saturday's game against Fresno State will be broadcast exclusively on  UCLA Digital Radio. Sunday's game against the host program will be broadcast to Spectrum Sports.

MATCHUP HISTORY: vs. Rainbow Wahine Showdown field
• Friday's contest against UT-Martin will be the first meeting in program history between the two teams.
• The Bruins will see Fresno State for the 12th time in program history on Saturday. UCLA holds an 11-0 record against the Bulldogs; the teams last met on Dec. 20, 2022 when UCLA downed Fresno State 82-48 at home. Saturday will be the first neutral site meeting between the programs.
• UCLA is 9-1 all-time against host Hawai'i; the Bruins have won five-straight games against the Rainbow Wahine. The teams last met on Dec. 21, 2023 inside Pauley Pavilion presented by Wescom. UCLA won the most recent matchup 85-46.
 
LAST TIME OUT: W, 77-62 vs. No. 1 South Carolina (Nov. 24)
• Junior Lauren Betts recorded her third-consecutive double-double (11 points, 14 rebounds), her fourth of the season, in the win over the Gamecocks. The UCLA center shot 5-for-8 from the field and finished with four assists and four blocks.
• Five Bruins achieved double-digit scoring in a balanced offensive effort; junior Londynn Jones led UCLA in scoring with 15, shooting a perfect 5-for-5 from long distance. Freshman Elina Aarnisalo ; . Junior Kiki Rice added 11 points in her return to the starting lineup, and Gabriela Jaquez matched with 11 of her own off the bench (6-6 FT).
• UCLA claimed its first victory over a No. 1 team in program history with the result. The Bruins earned a No. 1 ranking in the Associated Press Top 25 Women's Basketball Poll.
