Campbell, Frazier, Reed Nominated for AAI Award

UCLA gymnasts Chae Campbell, Margzetta Frazier and Nya Reed were announced as nominees for the AAI Award, presented to the nation's top senior gymnast.

Campbell is an eight-time All-American and seven-time All-Pac-12 honoree. As a freshman in 2021, she won the Pac-12 floor exercise title and was named the Pac-12 Freshman/Newcomer of the Year. She has scored a pair of perfect 10s on floor exercise and has a total of seven career perfect scores on vault, including two this season. Campbell was the first gymnast in Pac-12 history to win all four of the conference's weekly awards in her career, earning Specialist of the Week and Coaches' Choice in 2023, Gymnast of the Week in 2022, and Freshman of the Week three times in 2021. Her career-highs are 39.725, 10.0 on floor, 9.95 on vault, 9.925 on beam and 9.9 on She has excelled in the classroom, earning WCGA Scholastic All-American honors in 2023 and consistently making the Director's Honor Roll. Campbell is the co-president of UCLA's Black Student-Athlete Alliance.

A four-time All-American and the 2021 Pac-12 uneven bars co-champion, Frazier has hit 137 of 138 routines without a fall in her collegiate career, including an incredible streak of 133 consecutive hit routines. She holds career-best marks of 39.550 in the all-around, 9.95 on uneven bars and floor exercise, 9.925 on balance beam and 9.875 on vault. This season, she has competed on bars in every meet and has scored 9.9 in each of the last two competitions. Over her career, she has earned three All-America honors on bars and one on floor and four All-Pac-12 honors, including first-team in the all-around in 2021. Frazier was a co-founder of UCLA's Black Student-Athlete Alliance and was a representative on the Pac-12's Gymnastics Diversity and Inclusion organization G-PAC.

Reed is in her first year as a graduate student at UCLA after competing at Florida from 2019-22. Reed was a six-time All-American as a Gator and earned All-SEC honors in 2022, along with WCGA Scholastic All-American acclaim in 2020. She has competed on vault and floor for the Bruins in six meets this season, holding a Top 10 national ranking on floor. She has scored season-highs of 9.975 on floor and 9.95 on vault and has career-bests of 10.0 on floor, set twice in 2022, and 9.975 on vault. Off the floor, Reed was named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll three times and was selected to the SEC Community Service Team in 2022 due to her extensive volunteer work in the community, assisting with clothing, shoe and food drives and making hospital visits to spend time with sick children. ย ย
