March 22, 2024 | Women's Rowing

LOS ANGELES – The UCLA women's rowing program will open its spring racing season against crosstown rival USC and LMU on Saturday, March 23, in Marina Del Rey.

The Bruins will also be celebrating senior day during Saturday morning's meet.

The three schools will compete with five scheduled races, starting with the fourth varsity eight (V8+) at 8:15 a.m. UCLA, USC and LMU will race their third varsity eight crews (3V8+) at 8:30 a.m., followed by the varsity four boats (V4+) at 8:45 a.m.

The final two races of the morning will include the second varsity eight crews (2V8+) and the varsity eight boats (V8+) at 9:00 a.m. and 9:15 a.m.

This will mark the third consecutive season in which UCLA has opened its spring season with a meet regatta involving USC.

Saturday's races will mark the Bruins' first competition of the spring and the program's only races before heading to Sacramento during the first weekend of April for the Lake Natoma Invitational on April 6.

The 2024 season will mark UCLA's third rowing campaign under the direction of head coach Previn Chandraratna. The Bruins' head coach has entered his ninth year on the UCLA rowing coaching staff in 2024.
