
No. 20 UCLA Set for Lake Natoma Invitational

The No. 20 UCLA women's rowing program will return to action this week at the Lake Natoma Invitational, set to take place on April 6 at Lake Natoma in Gold River, California.
The Bruins will race their three varsity eight crews and two varsity four boats on both Saturday morning and Saturday afternoon. The first varsity eight crew will kick things off for the Bruins at 8:30 a.m. PT on Saturday morning.
In addition to UCLA, the field of competitors includes Gonzaga, LMU, Miami, Sacramento State, and Tulsa.
UCLA opened the spring season two weeks ago, winning three of five races in a tri-meet against USC and LMU.
The Bruins opened the day with wins in both the varsity four and the second varsity four. In the second varsity four the Bruins crossed the line 7:34.70, while the UCLA third varsity four team took second in the heat in 7:46.70. As for the V4+, UCLA took the win by a narrow margin, finishing in 6:48.60, while the USC quartet crossed the line in 6:49.17, giving the Bruins their second win of the day.
UCLA's second varsity eight earned the Bruins' third win of the morning in 5:49.70, finishing just ahead of USC's boat, which crossed the line in 5:50.63.
