UCLA Rowing Prepares for Sunday's Final Pac-12 Championships

The UCLA women's rowing team returns to the water this Sunday, May 19, at the Pac-12 Championships in Sacramento, California.ย Other teams competing on Sunday will be California, Oregon State, Stanford, USC, Washington, and Washington State.

The Bruins are heading into the Pac-12 Championships after a strong display at the Dexter Lake Invitational, where they finished in front of fellow Pac-12 programs in No. 17 Oregon State and USC.ย

UCLA had a successful weekend at the Dexter Lake Invite, placing second in three boats and first in one. The varsity eight, second varsity eight, and varsity four all placed second on the day, in addition to the third varsity eight, which won its race on Saturday, defeating the likes of USC and Oregon State.ย
The Bruins are looking to improve on last season's results at the Pac-12 Championships, with their sights set on an NCAA Championships berth.
UCLA competed with some of the best teams in the country at the Big Ten Invitational back in mid-April in Sarasota, Florida. UCLA's second varsity eight boat, and third varsity eight boat both earned wins on the weekend, with the third varsity eight crew winning once on both Friday and Saturday.
The Bruins won four races at the Lake Natoma Invitational on April 6, which is also the sight of this years Pac-12 Championships. The second varsity eight crew picked up their second win in as many regatts, winning their in the morning session. The Bruins varsity four and second varsity four also earned wins in the morning, and the second varsity four also won their race in the afternoon session.
To kick off the spring slate the Bruins won three of five races in a tri-meet with USC and LMU to open the season back on March 23. UCLA's second varsity eight, varsity four, and second varsity four all picked up wins on senior day.
