Six Bruins in Eugene for 2024 U.S. Olympic Trials

LOS ANGELES โ The 2024 U.S. Olympic Team Trials begin in Eugene, Ore., with six Bruins hopeful to earn a spot on Team U.S.A. for the Paris Olympic Games later this summer.

Graduate student Mayyi Mahama starts things off on Friday in the women's hammer qualifier; the hammer throw final will take place Sunday evening if Mahama advances. Alum Willington Wright also competes Friday in the first round of the men's 400m. Wright looks to advance to Sunday's semifinal to qualify for Monday's final in the event.

The men's discus qualifier throws next Thursday evening with rising junior Michael Pinckney in the mix. Kris Emig competes in the men's hammer throw and Ka'Leila Abrille on Friday, June 28. All three Bruins look to qualify for their finals, which will take place on Saturday, June 29, or Sunday, June 30.
