Cook Named UCLA Student-Athlete of the Week

LOS ANGELES – Junior Sofia Cook of UCLA Women's Soccer has been selected the Student-Athlete of the Week for competitions held between Sept. 17-23.
The Bruin midfielder scored the game-winning goals in both of UCLA's shutout wins this week, netting the game's only goal in a 1-0 win at Indiana on Sept. 19 before giving UCLA the 1-0 lead in a 2-0 victory at Purdue on Sept. 22. Both of Cook's goals were rockets, her 29th minute goal at Indiana going top shelf from just outside the box. At Purdue, she took a short corner kick and hit a screamer far post to break the scoreless tie. Cook has three goals this year, all of them game-winners. She is tied for the team lead in goals and is second in points with six. UCLA is a perfect 3-0 in conference play, with all three wins on the road.
Cook secures her second-career UCLA student-athlete of the week award.
