Freshman Crossley Makes NCAA Individuals Debut Tuesday

ORLANDO, Fla. โ Mayu Crossley makes her NCAA Championships debut Tuesday at the USTA National Campus. She will compete on the singles side of the 2025 NCAA Division I Singles and Doubles Championships, which will be hosted by the University of Central Florida and the USTA.
Crossley meets Berta Passola Folch of California at 10:30 a.m. PT. Play will continue through Sunday, with ESPN+ providing coverage of the 64-participant tournament.
The 81st-ranked Crossley, a native of Tokyo, won all three of her matches played at the ITA West Sectional Championships in Seattle to earn her spot. Her journey started with a victory against No. 109 Charlotte Keitel of San Diego and continued with triumphs over Shachf Lieberman of UC Santa Barbara and Tilde Jagare of Oregon. The final two rounds were not played.
All matches shall be the best-of-three sets. No-ad scoring and a seven-point tiebreaker (first to seven points, must win by two points) at six-games-all will be used for all matches. In doubles, a 10-point match tiebreaker will be played in lieu of a third set.
