UCLA Gymnastics to Compete at NCAA Utah Regional

The No. 5 UCLA gymnastics team will compete in the NCAA Gymnastics Utah Regional, which takes place April 2-5 at the Jon M. Huntsman Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. Joining the No. 5 seed Bruins in the Regional will be No. 4 seed and host Utah, No. 12 seed Minnesota, No. 13 seed Stanford, Southern Utah, Boise State, Denver, BYU and Utah State.

The regional competition begins with a first-round matchup on Wednesday, April 2 between BYU and Utah State at 2pm MT. The winner will advance to the 7pm second round session on Thursday, April 3 against Utah, Stanford and Denver. Competing in the afternoon second round session at 1pm will be UCLA, Minnesota, Southern Utah and Boise State. The top two teams from each of the two sessions will advance to the regional final on Saturday, April 5 at 5pm.

UCLA will begin the first round competition on floor exercise and will conclude on balance beam. Minnesota has Olympic order and will start on vault. Southern Utah begins on uneven bars, and Boise State starts on balance beam. In the second session, Stanford starts on vault, Denver begins on uneven bars, the BYU/Utah State winner on balance beam and Utah on floor exercise.ย 

The top two teams and the top all-around competitor (who is not on an advancing team) from each regional will receive an automatic berth to the national championships, which take place April 17 and 19 in Fort Worth, Texas. In addition, the top event specialist on each event who is not part of an advancing team or all-around competitor, advances to the national championship (in that event only).

Individual all-around competitors competing in the Utah Regional are Iowa State's Josie Bergstrom-Te Slaa, Eastern Michigan's Raisa Boris and Air Force's Maggie Slife. Individual event specialists are BYU's Kylie Eaquinto (vault, bars), Deb Silva (vault), Anna Bramblett-Wilde (bars), and Brynlee Anderson (beam); Utah State's Nyla Morabito (vault, floor), Avery Bibbey (bars), Brianna Brooks (bars, beam), and Sydney Jelen (beam); Iowa State's Frederique Sgarbossa (bars) and Noelle Adams (floor); San Jose State's Madison Gustitus (beam), and Eastern Michigan's Abby Brushwood (floor).ย 

The Bruins have won a total of 24 NCAA Regional titles and enter this year's regional with a NQS of 197.680 and a season average of 197.398. UCLA won the Big Ten Championship in its last competition, scoring a Championship record and 2025 season high of 198.450.

Regional Final (Saturday, April 5, 5pm MT): Top 2 teams from each second round session
