GREENWOOD, Ind. – Three members of the UCLA men's tennis team earned Academic All-District® acclaim for 2024-25, the College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced Tuesday. Gianluca Ballotta, Alexander Hoogmartens and Giacomo Revelli were recognized, with Hoogmartens moving forward to the national ballot for Academic All-America® consideration.

A nominee must be at least a sophomore, academically and athletically, with a cumulative grade-point average (GPA) of 3.50 or better. Graduate student-athletes are required to meet the 3.50 threshold as undergraduate and graduate students. CSC will publish its Academic All-America® list on Wednesday, June 4.

Ballotta, a junior from Lima, Peru, has found a home on the third doubles court. He and partner Emon van Loben Sels teamed for the first time in dual-match play on March 9 and the pair won its first six contests. They currently hold a 14-6 record that includes a 13-5 mark in dual matches. The pair has clinched a team-high six doubles points. Ballotta is also 5-5 in singles play, going 3-2 in team competitions.

Hoogmartens (Beersel, Belgium) has had a breakout senior season, leading the Bruins with a team-high 18 dual-match singles wins against just four losses. He is 22-8 dating back to the individual portion of the schedule. Hoogmartens has clinched a pair of team victories, including the NCAA Championship second-round upset of host and 11th-seeded California. He will also be announced as an All-America honoree for reaching the NCAA Championship doubles quarterfinals alongside partner Aadarsh Tripathi.

A native of London, Revelli has held down the top doubles spot with Hoogmartens since Big Ten Conference action began on March 7. The all-senior tandem is 8-6. Revelli has also prevailed in his past five finished singles matches, clinching wins versus Michigan and Michigan State at the Big Ten Tournament and UC Santa Barbara in the NCAA Championship opening round. His singles record is 11-7 (9-4 in dual matches).
