
Men’s Golf Finishes in 10th Place at The Wohali

COALVILLE, Utah – The UCLA men's golf team finished in 10th place out of 14 teams at The Wohali, a two-day, 54-hole tournament that took place at Wohali Golf Club.
This marked UCLA's second competition of the fall golf season. Sophomore Baylor Larrabee led the Bruins by scoring 5-over 218 over the two-day tournament. He shot a team-leading 2-under 69 on the third and final round on Tuesday to finish the competition in a tie for 27th place.
UCLA had three other competitors within the top 40 finishers – freshman Josh Kim (8-over 221, T-34), sophomore Logan Kim (9-over 222, T-39) and Alex Papayoanou (9-over 222, T-39). Senior Kyle An shot 18-over 231 as the Bruins' final player in the five-person lineup.
Larrabee rebounded on Tuesday with a score of 69 in the third round, after having shot 1-under 70 in the opening round and 8-over 79 in the second round (the first two rounds took place on Monday).
Josh Kim registered an individual best 1-under 71 in the third round on Tuesday. He carded 2-over 73 in the opening round and 6-over 77 in the second round on Monday.
UCLA also had four individual competitors in the Soldier Hollow Individual – freshman Tyler Loree, sophomore Trevor Garus, junior Luciano Conlan and senior Matthew Yamin. Loree won the individual title at the three-round event, sinking a birdie on the first playoff hole to defeat Ben Wilson. Loree shot 6-under 210 at the par-72 course (68-65-77). Both Loree and Wilson finished with a two-stroke lead over New Mexico's Oliver Cage.
Garus finished in a tie for 13th place, shooting 1-over 217 through three rounds. Conlan carded 5-over 221 (T-21st) and Yamin finished at 10-over 226 (41st place).
UCLA will continue its fall golf season with two more events. The Bruins will compete at the Fighting Irish Classic at the University of Notre Dame on Oct. 6-7. In addition, UCLA will be in action at the Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate Invitational, hosted by Georgia Tech, from Oct. 24-26.

Men's Golf Concludes Day One at Wohali Golf Club in Utah

The UCLA men's golf team finished in a tie for seventh place on Monday evening, through two rounds at The Wohali, hosted at Wohali Golf Club in Utah.
The Bruins shot 19-over 587 through 36 holes, tied with the University of San Diego in seventh place. UCLA will enter Tuesday's third and final round one stroke behind sixth-place Colorado State and six strokes from fifth-place Kansas State. The top four teams from Monday's first two rounds included Utah in first place, New Mexico in second place, Arizona State in third place and BYU in fourth place.
UCLA sophomore Logan Kim carded 2-over 144 as the Bruins' top individual performer on Monday (T-18, 73-71). Junior Alex Papayoanou finished one stroke behind Kim on the individual leaderboard (T-22, 72-73).
The Bruins' other three competitors on Monday included Baylor Larrabee (T-37, 70-79), freshman Josh Kim (T-41, 73-77) and senior Kyle An (T-49, 74-78).
Logan Kim shot a team-best even par (71) in the second round. Kim, competing in his second tournament with the Bruins, registered five birdies, one bogey and one triple bogey in the second round. He birdied four of five holes on the back nine.
