Smith Selected UCLA Student-Athlete of the Week Presented by La Victoria

Women's Water Polo

The senior secures her first-career UCLA student-athlete of the week award.

LOS ANGELES – Senior attacker Taylor Smith of UCLA Women's Water Polo has been selected the Student-Athlete of the Week presented by La Victoria for athletic competitions held between Jan. 27-Feb. 2.
 
Smith led the Bruins in scoring this past week with 16 total points (15 goals and one assist) in the Bruins' march to the Triton Invitational Championship. She opened with a hat trick against CS Fullerton and registered a career-high six goals in the win over No. 6 Arizona State. She had one goal in the semifinal win over No. 5 Hawai'i and then responded with five goals in the upset win over No. 2 USC. She also added three steals, one assist, one field block, and won five of six sprints on the weekend.
