LOS ANGELES – The UCLA rowing program opened the 2026 season on Friday morning, winning five of seven races in a dual regatta against No. 23 USC.

UCLA won five races on Friday. The Bruins took the win in the 2v4+, 3v4+, 2v8+, 3v8+, and 4v8+ to claim 16 points in the team standings. USC claimed the other 16 points and earned the win in a tiebreaker. 

Competing in their first regatta of the spring season, the Bruins took the Trojans to the wire, only falling in a tiebreak with a loss in the Varsity 8+ race to end the day.
