LOS ANGELES – Senior Andrew Rowan of UCLA Men's Volleyball has been selected as the Student-Athlete of the Week presented by La Victoria for athletic competitions held between April 21-27.
Rowan led the Bruins to the MPSF Tournament title in Provo, Utah over the weekend, earning Tournament MVP in the process. The Bruins took down Concordia in the quarterfinals, No. 8 BYU in the semifinals, and then beat crosstown rival No. 5 USC in the championship match. Rowan compiled 113 assists over the three matches, including a weekend-high 44 in the win over BYU. He also recorded six service aces and seven blocks over the weekend. As a team, UCLA hit .332 and limited their opponents to a .257 hitting percentage.
The senior secures his first-career UCLA student-athlete of the week award.
