No. 4 UCLA Hosts No. 17 USC for Crosstown Showdown Saturday

LOS ANGELES – No. 4-ranked UCLA Women's Basketball (13-1, 3-0 B1G) will host rival USC (10-3, 2-0 B1G) on Saturday for the 109th meeting in program history.
 
The Bruins and No. 17-ranked Trojans are undefeated in conference play early in the 2025-26 Big Ten season. The teams met for both the regular season and conference tournament championships, splitting the titles in 2024-25.
 
Saturday's game is set to tip off at 5 p.m. PT on Peacock.

MATCHUP HISTORY: vs. Southern California Trojans
• UCLA and USC meet for the 109th time in program history; the Bruins and Trojans have an even split in the all-time series, 54-54.
• No. 2-seeded UCLA took down top seeded USC in the championship game of the 2025 TIAA Big Ten Women's Basketball Tournament in the last meeting between the teams. UCLA snapped a four-game losing streak against USC with the conference title victory.
• The Bruins are 29-22 at home against the Trojans; UCLA's last home win was the 71-64 victory over USC on Dec. 30, 2023.
 
LAST TIME OUT: W, 97-61 at Penn State (Dec. 31, 2025)
• The Bruins led wire-to-wire in the 36-point rout of the Lady Lions on New Year's Eve.
• Senior Lauren Betts led all scorers with 25 PTS (11-9 FG) and grabbed seven rebounbds, tying senior Gabriela Jaquez for the game high. Lauren Betts shot 3-for-4 from the free throw line and played just under 25 minutes on the way to her season-high points total.
• Four Bruins achieved double-digit scoring: Betts (25), Gianna Kneepkens (17, 5-7 3FG), Kiki Rice (16 PTS), and Sienna Betts (10).
• The Bruins assisted on 27 of 36 made baskets Wednesday; Charlisse Leger-Walker finished with eight assists and zero turnovers.
 
WHAT'S BRUIN
• UCLA opened the 2025-26 season ranked No. 3 in the Associated Press Top 25 Women's Basketball Poll, released Oct. 14. The Bruins had a number of top 15 matchups in November: No. 6 Oklahoma (Nov. 10), No. 11 North Carolina (Nov. 13), No. 4 Texas (Nov. 26) and No. 14 Tennessee (Nov. 30), finishing November 3-1 against ranked opponents.
• The Bruins began the year with six of their first eight games being played at neutral site locations. UCLA made the trip to Las Vegas twice in three weeks, first for the WBCA Challenge (Nov. 13-15) and second for the Players Era Women's Championship (Nov. 26-27). The Bruins went 3-1 in Sin City this November.
• The Big Ten boasts eight programs in the AP Top 25 for the week eight poll: No. 4 UCLA, No. 6 Michigan, No. 7 Maryland, No. 14 Iowa, No. 17 USC, No. 19 Ohio State, No. 20 Nebraska and No. 24 Michigan State. Washington, Illinois, and Oregon received votes.
• UCLA won 23-straight games in 2024-25 - 22 were by a double-digit margin - setting the longest streak for both records in program history. UCLA's previous-best win streak came in the 1977-78 championship campaign (21 games).
• The Bruins boast 7 McDonald's All Americans on the roster: Lauren Betts, Sienna Betts, Angela Dugalić, Timea Gardiner, Gabriela Jaquez, Amanda Muse, and Kiki Rice. Jaquez and Rice shared co-MVP honors in the all-star game.
• UCLA was recognized as the USBWA National Team of the Week after going 3-0 from Nov. 10-15, which included victories over No. 6 Oklahoma and No. 11 North Carolina.
• UCLA has five players averaging double figures; the Bruin starting five totals 70.7points per game.
• The Bruins lead the Big Ten in assists (311 TOTAL, 22.2 APG) and assist/turnover ratio (1.87 A/TO) at the midway point. UCLA is also second in the conference, third in the nation in rebounding margin (+15.6 RPG).
