Eight Bruins Earn NFCA All-West Region Accolades
May 14, 2026 | Softball
LOS ANGELES โ A maximum eight players on the No. 5 UCLA softball team received All-West Region accolades, the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) announced Thursday.
ย
The Bruins (47-8, 20-4) saw a region-high seven players named to the First Team with third baseman Bri Alejandre, second baseman Kaniya Bragg, shortstop Aleena Garcia, outfielder Megan Grant, outfielder Rylee Slimp, pitcher Taylor Tinsley and first baseman Jordan Woolery. Catcher Alexis Ramirez was honored on the All-West Region Second Team.
ย
UCLA's eight All-West Region recipients are now up for All-America consideration, which will be announced prior to the start of the Women's College World Series.
ย
UCLA was the only school in the West Region to have all of its eight possible nominees selected. NCAA Division I programs were able to nominate a maximum of eight student-athletes for All-Region. The next-closest programs in All-West Region representation were Arizona, Arizona State and Stanford, all with five apiece.
ย
This marks the fourth time in the last six seasons UCLA has had the maximum eight players named All-West Region (2025, 2023 and 2021). The Bruins' seven First Team nods ties a program record accomplished twice previously in 2023 and 2021.
