UCLA Fall Letters of Intent

MEN'S BASKETBALL:

Matt Barnes, 6-7 forward from Del Campo HS in Fair Oaks, CA-Regarded as one of the top ten forwards in the nation. Also an outstanding wide receiver in football, but will only play basketball at UCLA.

Ray Young, 6-4 guard from St. Joseph's HS in Oakland, CA-Regarded as one of the top five shooting guards in the nation. HS All-American.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL:

Michelle Greco, 5-9 guard from Crescenta Valley HS in La Crescenta, CA-California State Freshman, Sophomore and Junior Player of the Year. Pre-Season HS All-American for both Student Sports and Street & Smith Magazines. Also won League Title in tennis.

BASEBALL:

Wade Clark, right-handed pitcher from Santa Ynez Valley HS in Santa Ynez, CA-All-CIF pitcher, who is regarded as one of the top 5 pitchers in CIF...

John Ennis, right-handed pitcher from Monroe HS in Panorama City, CA-All-City selection and regarded as No. 1 prospect in LA City this season...

Josh Karp, right-handed pitcher from Bothell HS in Bothell, Washington-Considered one of the top pitching prospects in the nation and was a standout at the summer Area Code Games...3.9 student.

GYMNASTICS:

Kaitie Dyson, Elite gymnast from Conroe HS in Conroe, Texas-Considered as one of the top five gymnastic recruits in the nation. Member of the USA National Team...

Alison Stoner, Elite gymnast from Laguna Hills HS in Laguna Hills, CA-Regarded as one of the top 3 gymnasts in the West this season.

Amy Young, Elite gymnast from Diamond Bar HS in Walnut, CA-Considered as one of the top five gymnastic recruits in the nation. Member of USA National Team...

SOFTBALL:

Amanda Freed, Pitcher from Pacifica HS in Cypress, CA--No. 1 player in the nation and the returning California State Player of the Year. 3.9 student, who led team to CIF title last year. Also an outstanding hitter, who plays shortstop for HS team when not pitching.

Lyndsey Klein, shortstop from Sacramento City College. Lives in Citrus Heights, CA. Regarded as No. 1 JC prospect in the state. Outstanding hitter and fielder, who should be an immediate starter for UCLA.

Erin Rahn, outfielder from Mt. Carmel HS in San Diego, CA. Quick player who was All-CIF selection and will contend for starting spot in outfield.

WOMEN'S SWIMMING:

Nicole Beck, Backststroker from Buena HS in Ventura, CA-All-CIF selection, who is regarded as a top recruit in both the 100 and 200 backstrokes, plus relays. 3.6 student.

Julie Massey, Intermediate Medley from Decatur HS in Tacoma, WA-Standout swimmer in both the 200 and 400 IM events. 3.9 student.

Katie Ryan, Sprint freestyler from Mt. Rainier HS. Lives in Olympia, WA-Solid sprinter in both the 50 and 100 freestyles, plus relays. 4.0 student.

Geraldine Schick, Distance freestyler from Vancouver, B.C. Canada-Sister Emmanuelle currently swims for UCLA...Swims 200, 500 and 1650 freestyle events.

Katie Younglove, Sprint Butterflyer from St. Francis HS. Lives in Sacramento, CA-UCLA's No. 1 recruit and regarded as one of the nation's premier HS recruits in both the 100 and 200 butterfly events. She will also likely be UCLA's butterfly swimmer on both the 200 and 400 relay teams. 4.0 student.

MEN'S TENNIS:

Zachary Fleishman, Playa del Rey, CA-Considered as No. 1 prospect in the West this year and figures to play near top of UCLA ladder in both singles and doubles...

WOMEN'S TRACK & FIELD:

Olabunmi Ogunleye, Long Beach Poly HS in Long Beach, CA-Top sprinter-jumper, who will try the heptathlon in college. Helped Poly to State Title last year, scoring in both the 400 meters and long jump. Regarded as one of top five recruits in nation.

Chaniqua Ross, Laguna Creek HS in Elk Grove, CA-State Champion in discus and runner-up in the shot put...Regarded as one of the top 3 throws prospect in nation...

Ysanne Williams, Albany HS in Albany, NY-Top 400-800 meter runner in nation and member of last summer's USA Jr. National Team, which competed in Cuba...Regarded as one of top five recruits in nation.

MEN'S VOLLEYBALL:

Matthew Komer, 6-5 outside hitter from Los Alamitos HS in Los Alamitos, CA-All-CIF selection, who is regarded as one of the top five recruits at his position in the nation.

WOMEN'S WATER POLO:

Jenny Lamb, Driver from Marina HS in Huntington Beach, CA-One of the top perimete players in the nation. Comes from outstanding club program and has been a starter for past three years.

Elaine Zivich, Driver from Cabrillo HS in Lompoc, CA-Considered as one of the top three recruits in the nation. Should be an impact player for UCLA with her perimter skills and overall ability.
