Two-year baseball letterwinner (2006-2007) at Sacramento City College under head coach Andy McKay...in 2007, posted a 7-3 record and 2.22 ERA in 18 appearances (15 starts) to helped lead Sacrmento City College to the Big-7 Conference title and California State Championships Final Four; recorded 86 strikeouts and 31 walks in a team-high 101.1 innings pitched that season...earned first-team All-Big 7 Conference honors, limiting opponents to a .236 batting average...hurled a five-hit complete game shutout against American River (April 3), striking out eight hitters...picked up the victory in game one of the NorCal Regional II Playoffs, allowing just one earned run and eight hits through 6.1 innings (May 18)...in 2006, compiled a 5-5 record and 5.07 ERA...totaled 44 strikeouts and 20 walks in 65.2 innings to lead Sacramento City to the state finals (runner-up) and to first place in Northern California his freshman season...posted a 3-0 record in the playoffs, pitching 21.1 innings and recording a 3.38 ERA; defeated College of Sequoias in an elimination game, allowing three runs in 8.0 innings; also picked up the victory over Cypress College in the Final Four.
High School
Two-year varsity baseball letterwinner at De La Salle High School under head coach Eric Borba...posted a 10-2 record as a senior with a 2.05 ERA, 67 strikeouts and 15 walks in 82 innings...earned All-Bay Valley Athletic League (BVAL) honors...helped lead De La Salle to the CIF North Coast Section finals...as a junior, recorded 42 strikeouts and just six walks in 45.1 innings...collected a 5-4 record and 2.95 ERA...helped lead De La Salle to the CIF North Coast Section semifinals...also played basketball his sophomore year under head coach Frank Allocco.
