Jose Robles joined the UCLA men's soccer program in April of 2024. Robles spent the last four seasons with the Tulsa men's soccer program, serving as an assistant coach for two seasons before earning a promotion to associate head coach prior to the start of the 2022 campaign.

"I am grateful for the opportunity to represent one of the finest institutions in the country," Robles said. I want to thank Ryan Jorden for welcoming me onto his staff, and I look forward to helping the team achieve success on and off the field."

During his tenure, Tulsa recorded a 36-19-8 overall record, coached 16 student-athletes to American Athletic Conference all-conference honors, four to all-rookie team accolades, and eight to all-tournament team honors. He helped two Tulsa student-athletes earn all-conference honors in 2023 with freshman Jared Aguilar and Sergio Baena earning spots on the all-rookie team and second team respectively.

Tulsa had a 10-5-2 mark, including three wins over top-25 opponents, made its 13th appearance in the NCAA Tournament, and advanced to the third round of the NCAA Tournament during the 2022 campaign.  Mariano Fazio and Alex Meinhard were both named to the Hermann Trophy Watch List, Fazio was named as a 2022 NCAA Division I Men's All-America third-team honoree, while Fazio, Alex Lopez, Meinhard and Henry Sach picked up United Soccer Coaches all-East Region honors.  For the American Athletic Conference, Fazio was named the Defensive Player of the Year and Lopez was tabbed as the Goalkeeper of the Year, both for the second-straight season.

In 2021 Tulsa had a historic season, tying a program-best of 16 wins, were ranked as high as No. 2 nationally, claimed The American regular season and tournament titles, and advanced to the NCAA Championship third round.  Robles helped coach Fazio to 2021 NCAA Division I Men's All-America third-team honors, while Lopez was named the 2021 Top Drawer Soccer Freshman of the Year, and five players were tabbed to the United Soccer Coaches all-east region teams.  The Tulsa men's soccer team claimed every American Athletic Conference honor possible in 2021, including Offensive Player of the Year (Alex Meinhard), Defensive Player of the Year (Mariano Fazio), Midfielder of the Year (Henry Sach), Goalkeeper of the Year (Alex Lopez), Rookie of the Year (Alex Lopez), and Coaching Staff of the Year.

During the pandemic-shortened 2020 season, Tulsa only played American Athletic Conference games prior to The American Championship and posted a 6-4-2 record for a second-place finish in the league. Alex Meinhard was named The American Offensive Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year and picked up all-conference and all-Rookie team accolades.

Robles came to Tulsa after serving as an assistant coach for three seasons (2017-19) at Florida Atlantic, where he was responsible for recruiting, scouting, and coaching the midfield and defensive players.  In 2019, the Owls improved on back-to-back two-win seasons with seven victories, including wins over No. 15 Marshall and No. 17 James Madison, and qualified for the Conference USA Championship for the first time in school history.

Prior to FAU, Robles was as an assistant coach at USF for three seasons (2014-16), during which time the Bulls made back-to-back American Athletic Conference championship game appearances (2015 and 2016), claimed The American tournament title in 2016, and made an NCAA Tournament appearance twice.

Robles previously coached at Tyler Junior College (2012-13), where he helped the Apaches to a 2012 National Championship, as well as regional and district championships in 2012 and 2013. Before that Robles spent the 2011 season as an assistant coach at Bryan College in Tennessee.

Robles began his playing career at Tyler JC in 2006, earning all-region accolades twice.  He then attended Belhaven University where he was a two-year team captain, earned Gulf Coast Athletic Conference all-conference honors twice, and helped his team advance to the NAIA Tournament as a senior.

Robles, who holds a USSF B License, earned his bachelor's degree in sports administration from Belhaven University in 2011.
