Blodgett was a two-sport athlete at Chaminade College Preparatory in West Hills ... played varsity softball for four years under coach Gina Hairapetian and varsity basketball for three seasons under coach Kelli DiMuro ... in softball, was a four-time First Team All-Mission League honoree, also earning a quartet of Scholar Athlete awards, as well as 2015 Los Angeles Daily News All-Area Team accolades ... hit .481 as a senior with four home runs, 15 runs batted in, 11 stolen bases, 17 runs scored, nine doubles and five triples ... helped the Eagles to three league championships in her freshman, sophomore and junior campaigns ... was named to the Daily News All-Area Preseason Team three times ... posted a .421 average, three homers, 17 RBI and nine steals as a junior ... in hoops, was a three-time league champion, as Chaminade won the CIF title in 2013 and the state title in 2014 ... played travel ball with Southern California 3D under coach Pete Rubio.

Born Danae Cristine Blodgett in Northridge, Calif. ... parents are Christy and Michael Blodgett ... has a sister, Calissa, and a brother, Alec ... chose to attend UCLA because she has the privilege to receive a degree from one of the top universities in the country while playing for the winningest softball program in the country ... favorites include actor Channing Tatum, singer Luke Bryan, the movie "A Star is Born" and attending country concertsย ... says the number one reason she plays softball is because it makes her an overall better person, teaching her how to compete on and off the field and teamwork ... hobbies include snowboarding, wake boarding and camping ... biggest athletic thrill to date was winning a CIF title with the Chaminade basketball team ... majoring in biology with a minor in global health,ย and would like to work in the health care industry.
