Women's Golf Team Tied for Second After First Round

LOS ANGELES, Calif. - The UCLA womens golf team, ranked 23rd nationally in the preseason MasterCard poll, is tied for second place after the first round in the Dick McGuire Invitational hosted by the University of New Mexico. The Bruins 18-hole score of 304 trails tournament leader Texas Christian by two shots and leads New Mexico (308) and Texas (309). Fifth ranked USC also shot a 304.
Individually, the Bruins were paced by a pair of one-over par 74s from sophomores Leilani Bagby and Julie Oh. They were tied for fifth. Junior Amanda Moltke-Leth, ranked 29th entering the tournament, fired a three-over 76 and junior Alexandra Gasser carded an 80.
Action continues tomorrow and Saturday at the UNM Championship Course.
