
Men's Tennis Squad Upends UC Irvine, 6-1

IRVINE, Calif. - After losing the doubles point, the UCLA men's tennis team swept singles for a 6-1 victory over UC Irvine at the UCI Tennis Stadium, Saturday.
UCI's Chris Ma and Chris Chung won at No. 1 and David Matthew and Oliver Schweizer won at No. 2 to earn the doubles point and take the early 1-0 lead.
The lead was short lived as the Bruins followed with wins at No. 1 through No. 6 singles. The best singles match of the day was at No. 4 where No. 53 Chris Sands took three-sets to defeat Brett Lucas.
The Bruins, who are ninth in the nation improve to 6-1 overall, while No. 70 UC Irvine goes to 5-2 on the season.
