Bruin Swimming and Diving Finishes fourth at Pac-10 Championships

LONG BEACH, Calif. - The 11th-ranked UCLA women's swimming and diving team posted a fourth place team finish at the 2000 Pac-10 Championships, hosted by Arizona at the Belmont Plaza Olympic Pool in Long Beach, Calif. Arizona won the meet with a team score of 1325, followed by Stanford (1197), California (1182), UCLA (1043), USC (975.5), Arizona State (877), Washington (460), Washington State (322) and Oregon State (291.5).
Senior Keiko Price was UCLA's top individual finisher on the day, posting a 49.55 to finish third in the 100 Freestyle. Three Bruins scored team points in the 1650 Free, led by Erin Zehntner, who was sixth in a time of 16:35.24. Beth Boehm and Erin Thomas finished 12th and 16th, respectively, in that event.
Freshman Nicole Beck turned in a fourth-place time of 1:58.27 in the 200 Back, while Lyndee Hovsepian finished fifth in the 200 Breast with a time of 2:15.46. UCLA had two scorers in the 200 Fly with Katie Younglove placing seventh in 2:01.05 and Julia Voitovitsch 1th in 2:01.21.
In platform diving action on USC's campus, freshman Regan Gosnell was UCLA's top finisher, earning eighth place with a score of 375.25.
The Bruins will now compete in the Long Beach Invitational on Sunday, which is a final opportunity for swimmers to post a qualifying time for the 2000 NCAA Championships.
