LOS ANGELES - The No. 12 UCLA women's volleyball team (16-7, 10-5 Pac-10) started its final homestand of the 2001 regular season with a Thursday night sweep of Oregon, 30-23, 30-18, 30-22. Senior Ashley Bowles and junior Lauren Fendrick both double-doubled for UCLA, as Bowles had 14 kills and 10 digs with a season-high six service aces while Fendrick posted 13 kills and 10 digs with a .391 attack percentage.

The Bruins hit .310 for the match, topping out with a .444 attack percentage in game two with 17 kills on 27 attempts with three errors as a team. The Bruins built a 20-12 lead in game two, and a 27-14 lead in game two en route to easy game victories. In game three, head coach Andy Banachowski used several players off of his bench. UCLA did not build as large of a lead in that third game, extending six point leads at 20-14 and 25-19 before closing out the 30-22 victory.

UCLA returns to action on Friday night, which will be senior night at Pauley Pavilion. The Bruins face off against Oregon State at 7 pm
