TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) - Melody Johnson matched her career-high with 23 points as No. 24 Arizona State beat UCLA 78-60 Saturday night.

Johnson made all 10 of her field goals as the Sun Devils (18-7, 10-3 Pac-10) built a 26-point lead in the second half and assumed sole possession of first place in the Pac-10.

Kristee Porter scored 16 points and Michelle Greco added 15 for the Bruins (3-20, 2-10), who lost their seventh straight.

Arizona State closed out the first half with a 12-1 run. Amanda Levens hit a 3-pointer and two free throws in the spurt as the Sun Devils built a 42-24 halftime advantage.

Betsy Boardman's jumper with 11:49 to play gave Arizona a 60-39 lead. The Sun Devils stretched their lead to 73-47 on Aubrey McFadyen's free throws with 5:17 left.

Boardman finished with 18 points and McFadyen added 12 in a reserve role.
