LAS VEGAS - The top-ranked UCLA softball team improved to 14-0 on the season with two wins on Saturday at the UNLV Classic. The Bruins defeated Wisconsin 9-2 and No. 12 Nebraska 6-2. UCLA completes its schedule at the UNLV Classic on Sunday with a 12:30 pm game against Florida International.

In game one, UCLA scored nine runs on 15 hits and one error, while the Badgers had two runs on one hit with one error. Keira Goerl earned the win for UCLA, pitching seven innings, striking out four. Tairia Mims caught for the Bruins, and had a stellar offensive game, hitting two home runs while going 3-for-4 at the plate.

Against Nebraska, the Bruins put together six runs on nine hits with an error, while the Huskers had two runs on three hits with two errors. Amanda Freed earned the win, pitching seven innings and striking out eight. Mims hit her third home run of the day while going 2-for-4 at the plate, while shortstop Natasha Watley stole three bases in the game.
