LOS ANGELES - Behind double-figure kill performances from Lauren Fendrick (14), Brittany Ringel (13), and Brynn Murphy (11), the Bruins downed the California Golden Bears 30-23, 32-30, 30-24 at Pauley Pavilion Saturday night. The win puts UCLA's record at 13-10, 6-7 in conference play. California's record drops to 15-8, 5-8.

It was an all-around victory for the Bruins, out-hitting Cal .286 to .143 for the match, holding the Bears to an .061 percentage in the opening game. UCLA also won the battle at the net, out-blocking Cal 9-7, and on the floor, out-digging the visitors 71-58. Murphy had the best hitting performance of the night at .526, while three other Bruins hit above .300. Chrissie Zartman led all players with 22 digs in the match.

The Bruins held the Bears at bay the whole night. In game one, UCLA's lead was cut to one as late as 18-17 before the Bruins went on a 12-6 run to close. Cal tightened the match with a late charge in game two, tying the Bruins at 30, but Angela Eckmier helped give UCLA a two-game advantage with a kill and block-assist on the final two points. Cal led the third game by two points early on several occasions, but the Bruins caught the visitors at 13 and never looked back, outscoring Cal 17-11 to secure the win.

UCLA hits the road for Veteran's Day weekend, visiting Oregon State on Friday and Oregon on Saturday before coming home to meet the Pepperdine Waves on Tuesday, Nov. 12.
