Tempe, Ariz. - The No. 5 UCLA men's tennis team defeated Arizona State, 6-1 Friday at the Whiteman Tennis Center in Tempe. With the victory, UCLA improves to 10-1 on the season, while ASU falls to 3-1.

The Bruins took the first two doubles matches to earn the doubles point. The Sun Devil duo of Olivier Charroin and Chris Stewart posted the only Sun Devil victory in doubles play, winning 8-6 over Rodrigo Grilli and Alberto Francis.

In singles play, UCLA won five out of six matches, as Tobias Clemens, Marcin Matkowski, Grilli, Erfan Djahangiri and Lassi Ketola all notched victories.

ASU's lone point on the day came at No. 2 singles where Pim Van Mele defeated UCLA's Jean-Julien Rojer, 6-1, 6-3.

The Bruins travel to Tucson tomorrow for a match with Arizona beginning at Noon.
