NORTHRIDGE, CA - Eighth-ranked UCLA (17-4) defeated Cal State Northridge in four games on Tuesday night with game scores of 30-28, 23-30, 32-30 and 30-26. The Bruins had three players with double-figure kills, led by Brynn Murphy with 18 kills and a team-high six blocks. Cira Wright double-doubled with 14 kills and 10 digs to go with five block assists.

UCLA held the Matadors to a .109 hitting clip in game one on its way to the 30-28 win, but Northridge battled back to win game two 30-23 after hitting .333. The Bruins however bounced back to take the game three 32-30 despite hitting .174 and then closed out the match with a 30-26 game four win.

Murphy and Wright were joined in double-figure kills by Brittany Ringel, who scored 16.5 points on 13 kills, two aces and two blocks. Chrissie Zartman led all players with 22 digs..

For the match, UCLA out-hit Northridge .225 (68-26-187) to .210 (66-29-176) and also had a slight 66-65 edge in assists, while out-blocking the Matadors 12.0 to 4.0.

The Bruins return to action with home matches against Washington State and Washington on Friday and Saturday, respectively. Both matches are scheduled for 7 pm starts at Pauley Pavilion.
