Box Score

Seattle, Wash. - Freshman midfielder Benny Feilhaber notched his second game-winning goal of the season as second-ranked UCLA shut out 13th-ranked Washington, 1-0 in Seattle.

Feilhaber scored his second goal of the season at the 64:40 mark after gaining control of a deflected cross by Ryan Valdez in the left corner of the box and knocking the ball past the near post. It was just the first goal allowed by UW senior goalkeeper Danny Waltman in three games.

The Bruin defense was stellar once again, allowing only one shot on goal, on which goalkeeper Zach Wells made the save. Wells earned the shutout, his fifth of the year. UCLA outshot Washington 14-13 and had five shots on goal.

UCLA's record improves to 8-1-0 on the year and 2-0-0 in Pac-10 Conference play. Washington suffers its first loss of the season and falls to 7-1-1, 1-1-0 in the Pac-10.

The Bruins will next face New Mexico on Thursday, Oct. 9 at 7 pm at Drake Stadium. It is the second game in a doubleheader with the UCLA women's team. The Bruin women will face Washington State at 5 pm.
