The fifth-ranked UCLA women's golf team is in third place after the first round at the 22nd Annual Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational, hosted by the University of Washington at Sahalee Golf and Country Club in Redmond, WA.

The Bruins posted a team score of 297, nine-over par, and trail first place California by nine shots. The Bears lead the field after posting a three-under par team score of 285. USC is second at 293. Arizona is fourth at 299, followed by BYU in fifth place at 300.

Individually, sophomore Susie Mathews led the Bruins with a one-under par score of 71 and is tied for fourth place. Junior All-American Charlotte Mayorkas is tied for seventh after an even par round of 72. Senior Bridget Dwyer and freshman Hannah Jun are tied for 33rd place after posting 77s and senior Gina Umeck is tied for 45th after a 79.

Cal's Sofie Andersson fired a three-under par 69 and leads the field by one stroke. USC's Irene Cho and Cal's Anna Temple are tied for second at two-under par 70.
