Tempe, Ariz. - The fourth-ranked UCLA men's tennis team won its fifth consecutive match Saturday, downing Arizona State, 6-1 at ASU's Whiteman Tennis Center. The Bruins improve to 16-1 overall and 3-0 in the Pac-10. ASU falls to 6-9 overall and 2-1 in conference action.

The Devils were unable to ignite the momentum that showed in their victory over USC, as the Bruins swept all three doubles matches to claim the one point awarded for doubles play.

Singles painted a similar story for the Devils, as UCLA claimed five of six matches. The most surprising element of the match was that ASU's lone point came against Erfan Djahangiri, who was a perfect 13-0 in dual matches heading into Saturday. Djahangiri was upset at No. 3 singles by Chris Letcher, 6-4, 7-6(7).

UCLA cruised in the five other matches, winning all of them in straight sets. The Bruins received singles victories from Tobias Clemens, Marcin Matkowski, Rodrigo Grilli, Chris Lam and Alberto Francis.

The Bruins head to the Bay Area next week to take on Cal on Friday and Stanford on Saturday.
