Women's Volleyball Falls to Stanford in Four Games

TUCSON, ARIZ. - The 10th-ranked UCLA women's volleyball team defeated No. 17 Arizona on the road on Friday night with game scores of 30-20, 30-18, 19-30, 30-25. The Bruins improve to 9-3 (2-1 Pac-10) with the victory, while the Wildcats fall to 8-5, 0-3. Senior outside hitter Heather Cullen led the Bruins with 11 kills while Chrissie Zartman led all players with 17 digs.

The Bruins won the first two games of the match hitting .300 and .212 while holding the Wildcats to attack percentages of .146 and .045, respectively. The pattern reversed in game three, as ASU hit .277 to UCLA's .109, but the Bruins came back to hit .263 to win the fourth game of the match 30-25.

Cullen led the Bruins with 11 kills, while teammates Nana Meriwether and Colby Lyman chipped in with 10 kills apiece. Cullen double-dobuled with 13 digs, while Lyman and Meriwether each contributed three of the team's 10 service aces in the match.

UCLA returns to action on Saturday night at Arizona State. The match is scheduled for a 7 pm start.
