Divers Fair Well at First Day of Texas Invitational

Tom Stebbins' dive team faired well on Thursday in the first day of the Texas Invitational in Austin, TX. Junior Paige Thompson led a trio of top-10 performances as she placed fourth (488.50) in the three-meter competition. Fellow junior Amanda Blong finished sixth (460.95), while senior Janine Strack placed 10th (426.90).

In the preliminary competition, Thompson was third with a score of 295.45, while Blong (252.25) was 10th and Strack (250.55) was 12th. During the semifinals, Thompson dropped to fourth with a score of 475.30, while Blong (434.60) and Strack (250.55) moved up to sixth and 10th respectively.

On Friday, Dec. 3, Thompson, Blong, and Strack will compete in the 1-meter competition, with freshman Heather Peng competing in the platform on Saturday.
