The 13th-ranked UCLA men's golf team left its hottest player on the course as darkness fell at the Pac-10/Big 10 Challenge, hosted by Northwestern University at The Glen Club in Glenview, IL

UCLA sophomore Daniel Im, three-under in the afternoon round, was forced to mark his ball with three holes to play because of imminent darkness. Im, four-under for the tournament, was in third place after 33 holes after carding consecutive birdies at the 14th and 15th holes. He posted a 71 (-1) in the first round.

As a team the Bruins were in a three-way tie for third place with Ohio State and Northwestern at one-under par. Arizona State and Minnesota were tied for first at three-under.

In the second round, the Bruins were six-under as a team. Sophomore Joakim Renstrom birdied three of his final five holes for a 68 (-4). Sophomore Brandon Christianson posted a one-over par 73 and freshman Erik Flores carded an even par 72. Freshman James Lee's three-over 75 was not used.

In the first round Flores posted a two-under par 70, Lee carded a 74 and Resntrom and Christianson had 78s.
