Junior Tess Schofield scored her first win of the season on Saturday as she won the tower competition at the Trojan Diving Invitational. Schofield, the 2007 Pac-10 and NCAA Zone E champion on tower, posted a zone qualifying score of 262.30 to win.

The Bruins also had a strong performance from junior Brittany Hill who also posted a Zone qualifying score with her fifth-place showing as she posted 232.25 points.

Schofield and Hill join junior Marisa Samaniego as early qualifiers for the post-season. Samaniego qualified for Zone's on one-meter and three-meter on Friday.

Freshman Morgan Erpenbeck competed in her first tower event since having wrist surgery last year and finished 11th overall with a score of 180.50.

"I'm real happy with where we are and what we did today," said dive coach Tom Stebbins. "Tess' performance wasnt' great, but she was very steady and I feel like for the total number of dives and reps we've done up on tower, it was a good win for her.

"Brittany was also solid and Morgan did a great job," added Stebbins. "This was Morgan's first competition on tower since her surgery and there were a few nerves at first, but I feel like once we got past that, she did very well."
