Poteete Has Another Lifetime-Best Swim at Short Course National Championships

Junior Anna Poteete notched her second lifetime-best at the Short Course National Championships in Atlanta, GA on Saturday as she finished 14th in the 100 free. She bettered her previous top time (49.75) in the prelim round with a swim of 49.37, which is an NCAA Consideration time. She swam 49.78 in the final.

Former Bruin Kim Vandenberg won the 200 fly in a time of 1:53.18 and was 10th in the 100 free, swimming 48.91.

Senior Chiemi Yamamoto swam a season-best 2:18.61 in the 200 breast to finish 28th overall. Freshman Emily Bibb swam a season-best in the 100 free, finishing 61st overall in a time of 51.24. Freshmen Dani Milligan (16:50.75) and Sam Vanden Berge (16:52.76) both swam NCAA Consideration times in the 1650 freestyle as Milligan was 24th and Vanden Berge finished 27th.

Other Bruin results - freshman Lauren Hall, 57th in the 200 back (2:03.44) and 85th in the 200 fly (2:06.43); junior Madeleine Stanton, 72nd in the 200 back (2:04.45); and freshman Carly Lyons, 100th in the 200 back (2:09.49).

The Bruins will next compete on Sunday at the Long Course Championships, also in Atlanta.
