LOS ANGELES - The UCLA Softball team (24-7) dropped its final non-conference outing on Tuesday afternoon at Easton Stadium, losing to UCSB by a score of 3-1.

UCLA opened the scoring in the bottom of the first inning as Kaila Shull drew a one-out walk, stole second base and came home on a single off of the left field wall by Lisa Dodd, making the score 1-0 in UCLA's favor.

The Gauchos answered in the top of the second inning, sending eight batters to the plate and accumulating three runs on two hits, including a two-RBI single by Tisha Duran that gave UCSB the 3-1 advantage.

That would conclude the offensive output for the day as neither team was able to push another run across the plate and UCSB won with a final score of 3-1.

Freshman Whitney Baker took the loss for the Bruins, allowing three runs in two and a third innings in the circle.

UCLA opens Pac-10 play on Friday afternoon at Easton Stadium when the Bruins host Arizona State. First pitch is scheduled for 1 pm.
